Yarn...

Okie dokie. I kinda remembered mom saying let's buy wool but couldn't swear by it. So here are your tests. It burns nice and doesn't curl and ooze like poly. It also burns pretty fast and kinda makes a funny noise like when you catch your hair on fire.
After I burned the end, I lightly pressed on it and it broke apart. It also left my finger smelling like burnt hair. Which by the way, now the house smells like that, even though I did the test in the kitchen and I'm in the sewing room.
Here's a quarter and roll of nickels leaning against the yarn. The roll is 3 ply yarn and 9.5"H. The width of the top is 8" and the width of the bottom is 9.5".
I thought what the heck? So....here's a picture of the yarn on it's side with a CD leaning against the bottom. It's a huge amount of yarn, although I remember mom worrying if it was enough for a skirt and top because she was going to use small needles and tight stitches.

Shannon, I have tons of needles and other paraphernalia because mom used to teach knitting and crocheting at Emporium Capwell's when she was young. She continued to knit until a month or so before she died. Sara and Heather keep saying they want to learn to knit, so for now I'm gonna keep everything in storage for them. If they decide not to take up the hobby in the future, I'll give you first shot at the stuff. You'll be like a kid in a candy store. Some of the stuff also belonged to her mother who was an expert at knitting and crocheting.

It wasn't Shannon who asked. It was me, Elayne.
